Oral Presentation Instructions
- All presentations should be in English.
- Each paper is allocated 20 minutes. The oral presentation should take about 15-17 minutes, leaving 3-5 minutes for introduction, summary from the Chairman, as well as questions from the audience at the end.
- Presentation slides should not contain small fonts or small figures and should be of high contrast.
- The Conference Room is equipped with a laptop, a projector, a microphone, and a pointing device.
- If you need any other audio or visual equipment, you must send a request for such equipment by email to iberspeech2016@inesc-id.pt.
- Make sure to upload your presentation on the laptop in the room. Contact the Session Chair before the start of the session. You can send your presentation to iberspeech2016@inesc-id.pt with subject: IberSPEECH 2016 – Oral Session and Paper identifier. For example, IberSPEECH 2016 – Oral Session O1-1.
- The use of the laptop of the Conference Room is mandatory. Test and confirm that your presentation is properly projected before the start of the session. If you need assistance, please contact either the Chairperson of the session or the technical assistant present in the room.
Poster Presentation Instructions
- The time slot allocated for the poster sessions is 1 hour and a 20 minutues, during which you will have the opportunity to describe your work and interact with interested conference participants.
- The poster boards will fit a standard A0-sized poster (841mm x 1189 mm) in portrait (vertical) format.
- Presenters must put up their poster during the 10:40 – 11:00 break before the start of the session, and remove their poster immediately at the end of the session.
- Materials to affix posters to poster boards will be provided in the poster sessions.
- Make your poster as self-explanatory as possible. We recommend to prepare a short presentation of about 5 to 10 minutes that you can periodically give to those assembled around your poster throughout the poster session.
Special Session Presentation Instructions
- The Special Session will consist of a first 30 minutes oral session followed by 1 hour of poster and tabletop presentations.
- Project Special Session papers will be only presented as posters during the last hour of the session.
- Demonstration Special Session papers will be only presented on tabletops (with an optional accompanying poster) during the last hour of the sessions. Developers should make sure they can run their demos properly. Thus, it is the authors’ responsibility to bring the necessary technical equipment for their demo to run properly. Note that the local organizers will not be able to provide any hardware or software.
- Ph.D Thesis Special Session papers will be presented both orally in a 5 minutes brief introduction at the beginning of the session and as posters during the last hour of the session.
- Ph.D Thesis Special Session presenters should contact the Session Chair before the start of the session to upload their presentation on the laptop in the room. You can send your presentation to iberspeech2016@inesc-id.pt with subject: IberSPEECH 2016 – Special Session and Paper identifier. For example, IberSPEECH 2016 – Special Session S3-1.
- All presenters must put up their poster and prepare the equipment for demonstration during the 16:40 – 17:00 break before the start of the session.
Albayzin Evaluations Presentation Instructions
- The Albayzin Evaluations Session will consist of a first 45 minutes oral session followed by 45 minutes of poster presentations.
- During the oral presentations, the Speaker Diarization and the Search on Speech tasks will be introduced by the evaluation organizers.
- Each participant will have 2 minutes to introduce orally the key aspects of their systems. Presenters can prepare 1-2 slides to support this introductory talk.
- Presenters should send in advance by e-mail their presentation to the evaluation organizers (with CC to iberspeech2016@inesc-id.pt) with subject: IberSPEECH 2016 – Albayzin Evaluations Session and Paper identifier.
- Detailed discussion of the systems will be carried out during the last 45 minutes of the session as poster presentations.
- All presenters must put up their poster at 8:30 before the beginning of the Opening Session.
